Cha~cha~ cha~ changes.......

Sometimes you just gotta move on.
I am feeling this in my life in a
BIG WAY
***
As my marriage has been coming to an end
and my main duty as Mama
is winding down...
I have been struggling with who I am
and what I want to do.
I will turn 47 this summer but
still feel like a young person on the inside.
I am finally getting used to
the older looking gal that stares
back at me in the mirror.
Over the past few years, I have fretted about
loosing my identity as a mom & wife,
being too old to start a new career,
having too many wrinkles for any man
to ever find me attractive,
and too afraid to burst
out of the shell
all this fear
locked me
in.

Our pastor gave a message that really hit home.....
"You are not who people say you are,
you are who God says you are."
WOW!
I am his chosen, his beloved, his bride, etc..
It was like a new light was turned on
inside my heart.
I don't have to be afraid! I have worth!
I visited a wonderful counselor who helped me
put everything in perspective.
My heart and soul has been healing.
New hope has filled my mind.
When I was growing up, all I ever really
wanted to be was a wife & mom.
I wanted to live on a farm, grow most
of our food, have lots of animals
and babies.
The wife and farm part never did work out as
I had envisioned, but I am so blessed to
have two WONDERFUL children!
They will be 16 & 18 this year.
I am so proud of them!
It seems kinda funny to be trying to figure out
what to do with my life, the same time they are
figuring out what to do with theirs.
What I would love to be is a
Dr. of Holistic Medicine.
Unfortunately, it would take 6 years
and thousands of dollars to do.
I kept looking for the right thing to appear.....
Out of the blue, the PERFECT thing
materialized!
Our local community college is offering for the
first time, a new course to become a certified
Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
It will take one full school year and a chunk of cash,
but it is exactly what I was looking for.
I was also recently introduced to
the "nutriceuticals" industry.
It is forcasted to be growing enormously
over the next 10 years.
Change is good!!

I hope you all have had a wonderful Spring...
I have missed visiting around and plan
to do some catching up this week.
Blessings~LillySue

God does open doors and helps us become who He wants us to be. Change is difficult, but walking with God will see you through it.

A tear came to my eye as Ii read about how you look in the mirror and see an older person, but feel so young inside... that has been more for a while.

Many blessings to you!

Oh my goodness, we definitely have a few things in common!! I have to admit, though, I still lean towards the anti-change type of personality. If I feel comfortable the way it is, then I see no need to change it. Let's not fix what isn't broke. Let's not rock the boat! I don't like change.. I don't want it, but most usually I'm at least reasonable to talk about it. I TRY to keep an open mind! Glad to hear you have the right frame of mind and the good support that is so nice to have through the the gray areas and tough spots you face in life. Always wish you the best.. Oh, and I like your haircut! ~tina

I love your hair! One of my favorite songs is by THE VIOLET BURNING and my favorite song of theirs is "As I AM"
Some of the lyrics are:
"I am my Beloved's and He loves me as I am"
He loves you as you are!

Oh... Lily Sue, I have been thinking about you and visiting now and then and I figured something big was going on in your life. I am so sorry about your marriage. That is a huge change, especially after your husband's horrible injuries from his fall and the intense amount of time you must have spent caring for him, etc... I will say prayers for you and your family. You will do great with your "changes." From reading your blog the last year or so... I can tell that you would be perfect in your new chosen profession! I love your new hair!!! I am your age, as well and I have similar feelings when I look in the mirror.

Blessings to you!

Just "friended" you on FB and popped over here to your blog to catch up since our days at Jordan. Loved reading and seeing all the photos (you look just like you did in high school - that's awesome!) You seem to have a great attitude, even through the rough times. I have a quote posted near my computer, and part of it reads: "Realize that He (God) will make the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He intends me to learn, and working in me the grace He means to bestow." Sounds like He is continuing to work the trials in your life into blessings... :)

Oh Lillysue....I'm so sorry to hear about your marriage. I know how hard it is....I reallly do.... I've been through it TWICE. But, I promise you....it WILL all work out. You'll discover strength beyond what you could have ever imagined. And, it WILL be better. It's rocky for a bit, but it passes. You soooo deserve to be happy.

Love your new "do" too.

Huge hugs dear girlie!
