Twilight = Edward ....Need a Good Love Story??

Ok
I have a 16 year old daughter
We have done
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
Narnia
and have loved them all.
She wanted to watch Twilight when it
came out. I said,
"No Way...we do NOT do
Vampires in this house!!"
As a child, I had horrible reoccurring
vampire nightmares and have
NEVER
wanted anything to do with them.
When New Moon came out,
It looked kind of interesting and my sister
told me it was really a love story.
Now, I am a total sucker for a good
love story.

So we rented Twilight
LOVED IT
and we have been to see
New Moon 3 times
and now own Twilight.
This is Edward
He is a 103 year old virgin
(yes...he is a vampire)
He is old fashioned, romantic and chivalrous
I was besotted immediately!

This is him and Bella
His ONLY true LOVE
.......S*I*G*H......
Soooooo,
If you wonder what I was up to
during the Thanksgiving holiday
I was reading all four books
in the Twilight Saga.
The books are even better than
the movies.
If you prefer tall, dark and hunky
then Jacob is the werewolf for you.
If you are a twilight fan,
give a shout out
so I won't feel like I am the only
46 year old with a crush on a 103 year
old vampire that looks 25
Ok...He is supposed to be 17 but the actor
Rob Pattenson is stretching that a little!
Yep, I am a sucker for
a good love story!

The books are way better than the movies. The lady who directed Twilight didn't follow the book very well. New Moon is pretty close to the book. These books are aimed at highschoolers, but I'm 26 and addicted to them. :) I went to see New Moon with several women in their late 30's. So don't feel bad that you like it too. :)

Amanda~ In Twilight I kept wishing they had Bella narating so you could hear what she was thinking when she was with Edward like it was in the books...kinda missed that!

oooohhh....sounds scary to me; anything with vampire doesn't sound romantic!

I have read and reread the books, have seen Twilight numerous times and just went with my teenage daughter to see New Moon. I will be 43 in a few shorts weeks and LOVE every last thing about them! I am a sucker too (and lovin' it)! So please don't think you are alone!

Hey, Lily Sue!

Well I was wondering where you'd been and now I know! ☺ And yes, don't worry- there *is* life after finishing the Twilight series. ☺

I'm a major Twilight fan- especially of the books and I'm older than you are! Stephanie Meyer did not write Twilight for teens but even if she did, I've always loved teen stuff! Twilight is like my little club; that and blogging!

It's sad that a lot of people don't realize, (even some interviewers) that Edward doesn't go around biting Bella's neck! Abstinence is such a big theme in the books!

When I first heard of Twilight, I said the same thing- "No way!" Then when I found out the setting was Forks- a place I've been to and almost moved to, then my interest began to increase. And then when I heard it all began with a dream Stephanie had, I was hooked!

I went to see New Moon, too. My first movie in a theater in about 15 years! I can't wait till it's out on DVD. I kept wanting to pause it at the theater!

Well, I must tell you that I am not looking forward to Breaking Dawn... I had to make myself read that one.

Well, Ha-ha! this is something I could talk about all day long! ☺ e mail if you want to talk more!

Love them! Read all of them in two weeks while sick! Can't believe the beauty and cinematography in the movies, so, yep, my daughter and I are hooked. Plus, I just want to draw those perfect features on that poster of Robert. Yikes. Stephanie Meyers has brought out a true good yarn and we are in her characters' snare. Great to see others giving accolades. Blessings dear.

Oh girl! You have missed Holly and I going on and on about this!! I was at the midnight premiere for New Moon!!! I haven't gone again, trying not to spend the money, but I really want to!! hehe I too have the books and am rereading the series and own Twilight. I will have New Moon as soon as it is released. I LOVE Jacob. But I always thought Edward and Bella were perfect! Jacob just is so wonderful. Two great men one great story!!! And yea the vampire thing really is so not an issue in this story! I love how they WANT to control themselves. I kind of see them like the magic in HP it is just showing that we are all different and the Romeo and Juliet reference really works. Love the story not so crazy about the writing , she is no JK, but I love her characters!
I'm 41 by the way so I totally hear you!!
Hugs, Lisa

The books were surprisingly good, weren't they? My daughter had to twist my arm to read them, but I read them all back to back, and I loved them! And you are by no means the only 40-something who loves the Twilight saga!
Have a great weekend!

Oh, LillySue... I am a fan of the Twilight series! I read the books to see if they were O.K. to let my daughter read. I was hooked. Couldn't put them down and then didn't want them to end. I love Edward! O.K. I said it! Haven't seen new moon yet because I have been too busy. I will soon. Thanks for the post!
